MARRIAGE CELEBRATION AT THE EMBASSY

IMPORTANT

  • There are no appointments for file submissions. Those who come will not be received.
  • Applicants are requested to send documents and fees exclusively by postal mail.
  • Send the set of required documents and fees in a large envelope by “genkinkakitome” (registered mail for send cash) from the Post Office.
  • The marriage can be celebrated after the issuance of the Certificate of Eligibility for Marriage and the Publication of Banns, for about one month.
  • The date will be fixed according to the availability of the Registrar.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

  • The application form for the Marriage Celebration at the Embassy to download, complete, date and sign ; you can make the request at the same time as the Declaration of Publication of Intention to Marriage & Certificate of Eligibility;
  • A handwritten application letter requesting the celebration of marriage at the Embassy (containing the surname and first name, full address, phone number and e-mail address of the applicant);
  • Two witnesses for each, four in total, that is:
  • □ a head of the family or his representative of the husband,
    □ a head of household or his wife’s representative,
    □ a witness for the husband,
    □ a witness for the woman.

  • Copy of witnesses documents (CNI, Residence Card, passport, etc) in PDF emailed in advance to the Embassy;
  • Original of witness documents on the day of celebration;
  • Fee of 7,000 yen.
