ATTENTION! NEW Application procedure for Laissez-Passer applications (Ordinary and Mortuary).
As from January 5, 2026, Laissez-Passer application is done exclusively online via (https://www.evisacam.cm/ords/dl_portal/r/public_portal/home). Each applicant is kindly requested to register and go through online pre-enrolment for Laissez-Passer.
After filling the form during this online pre-enrolment, the applicant will be required to upload all supporting documents listed below and pay the Laissez-Passer fee online before submitting the application.
After submitting the application, the Embassy kindly invites the applicant to forward all supporting documents uploaded online to the Consular Section by email (contact@cameroonemb-jp.org). The PROOF of payment obtained after paying the Laissez-Passer fee online should also be sent to the Embassy along with other documents.
REQUIREMENTS FOR ORDINARY LAISSEZ-PASSER
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS FOR AN ADULT
Certificate of nationality;
□ Copy of National Identity Card/Consular Card or passport (even expired);
□ Copy of original or duplicate Birth Certificate;
□ Flight itinerary to Cameroon (confirmation of reservation, voucher, e-ticket, etc);
□ Copy of the old passport or a certificate of loss of passport;
□ Copy of resident card or study permit or entry visa;
□ Any other Cameroonian identification document;
□ 1 photo (passport or ID size);
□ Proof of payment [Fee of 75,000 XAF (around 115 Euros including bank fees) payable online].
FOR A KID OR MINOR (ACCOMPANIED OR UNACCOMPANIED)
□ Certificate of nationality;
□ Copy of National Identity Card/Consular Card or passport (even expired);
□ Copy of original or duplicate Birth Certificate;
□ Flight itinerary to Cameroon (confirmation of reservation, voucher, e-ticket, etc);
□ Passport copy of the parent/guardian traveling with the kid;
□ Copy of resident card or study permit or entry visa (for the kid and parent);
□ In case the child is accompanied by a family’s friend, enclose the following:
“Parental Authorization to travel from abroad to Cameroon” to be downloaded, duly filled, dated and signed by the parent;
□ 1 photo (passport or ID size);
□ Proof of payment [Fee of 75,000 XAF (around 117 Euros including bank fees) payable online].
REQUIREMENTS FOR MORTUARY LAISSEZ-PASSER
□ Authorisation for body transfer (issued by hospital or other competent authorities, funeral company);
□ Burial Permit;
□ Copy of the death Certificate;
□ Copy of the information/identity page of the deceased’s passport or Birth certificate of the deceased;
□ Embalming information (certificate or letter from the funeral company);
□ Sealing information (certificate or letter from the funeral company);
□ Proof of payment [Fee of 100,000 XAF (around 153 Euros including bank fees) payable online].
NOTE TO RESIDENTS IN JAPAN – KOREA – AUSTRALIA – NEW-ZEALAND – OTHERS
□ Please check with the airline company and the Immigration Bureau of the country of residence whether the original document of the Laissez-passer will be required to travel or whether the online Laissez-Passer will be accepted.
□ In case the original document of the Laissez-Passer will be required, the applicant will have to arrange the shipping of the document from the Embassy to the place of residence via (DHL, FEDEX, EMS, other).
PAYMENT & EXPEDITION
For residents in Japan
Fees to be enclosed with the whole set of documents in a big envelope by genkinkakitome from the Post Office.
A prepaid envelope LETTER PACK for returning your documents, with your address already filled.
For residents abroad
About bank transfer:
Fees for the document and for its expedition can be sent by bank transfer, by adding bank charge that can’t be determined in advance. In that case, be aware that you have to add 6,000 JPY to 8,000 JPY, depending on the amount you are sending and the rate of the day. Please refer to your local bank.
If you have an acquaintance residing in Japan, he can send by postal mail by registered mail for cash.
About returning fees:
EMS fees from Japan to Australia and New-Zealand: 3,150 JPY
(rate can be changed anytime. Please refer to the website of the Post)
DHL approximate fees from Japan to: Australia and New-Zealand: 16,000JPY
(rate can be changed anytime. Please refer to the website of the DHL).
If you already have an account number especially for collect account (Payer Account Number), don’t forget to mention it on your DHL airway bill.
Before sending the set of documents, inform us in advance by email your choice:
I have transfered EMS fees for the amount of ……JPY.
I have a DHL account for payment on delivery.
I will call the local DHL for pick up to DHL JAPAN.
I have transfered in total the amount of ….. JPY.
I sent cash through an acquaintance resident in Japan the amount of….. JPY.
IMPORTANT
- No appointment for application. Those who came will be not received.
- The Embassy accepts documents and fees by postal mail only.
- Validity of the Laissez-passer: one month from the day before of the departure.
- Application processing time: 08 to 10 opening days.
